How To Pray The Virgin Of Guadalupe Rosary Chaplet

On 9 December 1531 Our Lady appeared to peasant Juan Diego on the Hill of Tepeyac near Mexico City.  Click here to read more about this Marian apparition.

Below are prayer instructions for the Our Lady of Guadalupe rosary chaplet.  The chaplet is available for purchase at UnbreakableRosaries.com.

On The Crucifix - Mystical Rose

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mystical Rose, make intercession for our Holy Church, protect the sovereign Pontiff, help all those who invoke you in their necessities, and sine you are the ever Virgin Mary and Mother of the true God, obtain for us from your most Holy Son the grace of keeping our faith, of sweet hope in the midst of the bitterness of live, of burning charity, and the precious gift of final perseverance.  Amen.

First Large Bead - Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name: Thy kingdom come: Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread: and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation: but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Four Small Beads - Four Hail Marys in honor of Her four apparitions to the Blessed Juan Diego.  One Glory Be.

Hail Mary, full of grace; the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

First Apparition:  Our Lady of Guadalupe appears to the Blessed Juan Diego.  Our Lady requests a temple in her honor.

Our Father ...

Meditation:  Our Lady of Guadalupe, my Queen and my Mother, I thank you for your first apparition to the Blessed Juan Diego when you revealed that you are the Most Pure Virgin, Mary, Mother of the True God and Mother of all mankind.  I thank you for requesting a temple to be built where you stood, to bear witness to your love, your compassion, your aid and your protection for all who would love you, trust you, and invoke your help.

Three Hail Marys, one Glory Be

Second Apparition:  Our Lady of Guadalupe gives Blessed Juan Diego encouragement after his return from the Bishop's house.

Our Father ...

Meditation:  Our Lady of Guadalupe, my Queen and my Mother, I thank you for your second apparition to Blessed Juan Diego when, upon his return from the Bishop's house, he knelt in humiliation and defeat before you since he was unable to accomplish your mission.  I thank you for the courage and encouragement you gave to Blessed Juan Diego to make a second appeal to the Bishop.

Three Hail Mary's, one Glory Be

Third Apparition:  Our Lady of Guadalupe promises a sign to the Blessed Juan Diego for the Bishop.

Our Father ...

Mother, I thank you for your third apparition to the Blessed Juan Diego when, after this unsuccessful attempt to have a temple built, you said to him, "So be it, son.  Return tomorrow in order that you may secure for the Bishop a sign for which he has asked.  When this is in your possession, he will believe you; he will no longer doubt your word and suspect your good faith.  Be assured that I shall reward you for all that you have undergone."

Three Hail Mary's, one Glory Be

Fourth Apparition:  Our Lady of Guadalupe fulfills her promise by showing herself on the tilma of Blessed Juan Diego.

Our Father ...

Meditation:  Our Lady of Guadalupe, my Queen and my Mother, I thank you for your fourth apparition to the Blessed Juan Diego when you ordered him to pick the roses he would find on the summit of the hill and bring them to you.  I thank you for arranging them in his tilma when you said, "This cluster of roses is the sign that you shall take to the Bishop.  You are to tell him, in my name, that in this he will recognize my will and that he must fulfill it.  You will be my ambassador, wholly worthy of my confidence.  Only in the presence of the Bishop shall you unfold your mantle and disclose that which you carry."  I thank you for your image printed on the tilma which appeared when the roses were released.

Three Hail Marys, one Glory Be

Closing Prayer:  Remember, O most gracious Virgin of Guadalupe, that in thy celestial apparition on the Mount of Tepeyac, thou didst promise to show thy compassion and pity towards all who, loving and trusting thee, seek thy help and call upon thee in their necessities and afflictions; also to hearken to our supplications, to dry our tears and to give us consolation and relief.

Inspired with this confidence we come before thy august presence, certain that thou wilt deign to fulfill thy merciful promises.  We are hopeful that, standing beneath thy protection nothing will trouble or afflict us.  Thou has desired to remain with us through thy admirable image, thou who art our Mother, our health and our life.

O Mary, Mother of God, hear our petitions and in thy mercy answer us.  Amen.

Prayer To Our Lady Of Guadalupe

Our Lady of Guadalupe, my mother, into your hands joined in prayer, take my prayers, petitions and hopes, and present them to Jesus for me.

Remembering the love and care your hands rendered to Him, He will not refuse what they hold now, even though they are from me.  Amen.

The Rosary Chaplet Of The Holy Ghost

Chaplet Of The Holy Ghost

The Chaplet of the Holy Ghost was composed in 1892 by a Franciscan Capuchin missionary of the English province in order to give the faithful an easy means of honoring the Holy Ghost.  It was approved by Pope Leo XIII in 1902.  It is intended to be in regard to the Holy Ghost what the Dominican Rosary is in regard to the Blessed Virgin.

This rosary consists of 5 groups of 7 beads each.  Before and after each group there are 2 large beads, that is, 12 large beads in all.  In addition there are 2 small beads at the beginning.  On these three beads one makes the sign of the Cross, recites an act of contrition and the hymn Come Holy Ghost.

In each group the Glory Be is said on the 7 small beads, an Our Father and a Hail Mary on the 2 large beads.  On the remaining 2 large beads are said the Apostles' Creed and an Our Father and Hail Mary for the intention of the Holy Father.

There is a mystery for each of the 5 groups; the number 5 commemorating the Five Wounds of Jesus which are the fountains of grace which the Holy Ghost imparts to all men.  The reflections suggested are as follows:

Wire-Wrapped Chaplet Of The Holy Ghost
 Available for purchase at UnbreakableRosaries.com

The First Mystery
By the Holy Ghost is Jesus conceived of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The Meditation:  "The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the Power of the Most High shall overshadow thee; and therefore also the Holy which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God." (Luke, I, 35)

The Practice: Diligently implore the aid of the Divine Spirit, and Mary's intercession, to imitate the virtues of Jesus Christ, Who is the Model of virtues, so that you may be made comformable to the image of the Son of God.

The Second Mystery
The Spirit of the Lord rested upon Jesus.

The Meditation: "Jesus, being baptized, forthwith came out of the water:  and lo! the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming upon Him." (Matthew, III, 16)

The Practice: Hold in the highest esteem the priceless gift of sanctifying grace, infused into your soul by the Holy Ghost in Baptism.  Keep the promises to which you then pledged yourself.  Increase, by constant practice, Faith, Hope and Charity.  Ever live as becometh children of God and members of God's true Church, so as to obtain, hereafter, the inheritance of heaven.

The Third Mystery
By the Spirit is Jesus led into the desert.

The Meditation: "Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the desert for the space of forty days; and was tempted by the devil."  (Luke, IV, 1-2.)

The Practice: Be ever grateful for the sevenfold gift of the Holy Ghost bestowed upon you in Confirmation, for the spirit of wisdom and understanding, of counsel and fortitude, of knowledge and piety, and of the fear of the Lord.  Faithfully yield to His Divine guidance, so that, in all the trials and temptations of life, you may act manfully, as becometh a perfect Christian and valiant soldier of Jesus Christ.

The Fourth Mystery

The Holy Ghost in the Church.

The Meditation: "Suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a mighty wind coming, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting ... and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak ... the wonderful works of God."  (Acts, II, 2, 4, 11.)

The Practice: Thank God for having made you a child of His Church which is ever animated and directed by the Divine Spirit, sent into this world for the purpose on the day of Pentecost.  Hear and obey the Holy See, the infallible mouthpiece of the Holy Ghost, and the Church, the pillar and ground of truth.  Uphold her doctrines, seek her interests, defend her rights.

The Fifth Mystery
The Holy Ghost in the soul of the just man.

The Meditation: "Know you not that your members are the temple of the Holy Ghost, Who is in you?" (I Cor., VI, 19.)
"Extinguish not the Spirit." (I Thess., V, 19.)
"And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God whereby you are sealed unto the day of redemption." (Eph., IV, 30.)

The Practice: Be ever mindful of the Holy Ghost Who is within you, and carefully cultivate purity of soul and body.  Faithfully obey His Divine Inspirations so that you may bring forth the Fruits of the Spirit - Charity, Joy, Peace, Patience, Benignity, Goodness, Long-suffering, Mildness, Faith, Modesty, Continency, Chastity.

Conclude with the "I believe" as a profession of faith.

Say finally once Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory be to the Father, for the intentions of the Sovereign Pontiff.
